while drinking beer and gin/tonics at a sports bar, my friend and i argued over who the best nba team would be.

please give us some help and tell who you think would win this game in a best of 7 series in a neutral court.

keep in mind that all the players are in their prime and consider how these would play as a unit as much as their career stats.

see the authors of this thread (perfectpie,and his friend Hannible) who had this conversation and wrote the thread are sitting in my livingroom playing that game right now as im typing this, what is even wierder is that perfectpie moved dto georgia a year ago and this is the first night he has been back in town

I would have to answer yes to all questions. IMHO, there are many different levels of "love", as you described in your post, and as you said finding a person that connects on all levels is near imposible

i watch the news and all commentators act as if our winning is a given.

yes, we are the biggest, baddest nation; we have the nukes, but what if?

i dont worry about losing a war with Iraq, but what if allies turn against "us", what if other Arab nations, try to help out Iraq, what if north Korea decides to use its nukes to make a statment and hits Japan, this thing could,however unlikley, grow into another world war.

and then Amegeddon would come and all my apostate friends would be destroyed....thats what i worry about

Have You Been Divorced?

divorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.

probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.

possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.

I Guess i at times blame the org. for the divorce, but at the time it happpened i realy wanted nothing to do with it anymore, and kept that in the closet, wich led to most of the turmoil in the marrige so maybe the blame should be with me, but it was the way the elders handled the situation that cause the final undoing of the marrige...IMO....

the kicker is that after the divorce the ex drifted off herself and i often wonder if now things could work out. Also i wonder if i would be willing to take that chance.

AS it sits now, i think that we are friends, we talk occasionaly, and can talk about the issues we face with family pressures and shunning, I know that i hope the best for her and that her life goes well, wich sad to say is the exact opposit of what my thoughts were when we first parted ways.

What Would You Do With 18 Million Dollars???

hi everyone.... just abit of a fluff thread really.... in australia there is an 18 million dollar lotto draw happening on the 15th of february... .

it got me to thinking... what would i spend it on???.

i know that the first thing i would do is pay off all my debts, buy 2 houses, one to live in and one to rent out, buy a new car, put money in trust funds for the kids and give some money to my family.... that still lives at least 10 million dollars... i would have to go on an around the world holiday (first class all the way) ok take of a million... .

i would organize a international apostafest and pay everybodys way ....or id just go to vegas and put it all on one bet, on the roulett table.

i was going to add some thoughts to another thread, but it is now locked.

it took a long time to gather my nerve up to post a new topic, and i'll probably regret it, but i couldn't feel any crappier than i do today, (well, yes i could) so, whatever.. .

perhaps the following - taken from a book i've read a million times - will be of help to someone... yeah, it's another stupid trauma analysis ... however, if you've ever been a jehovah's witness, you have been traumatized, and no doubt must contend dearly with at least some afteraffects.

Who plays a musical instrument?

everybody likes music, but i don't know many people who play an instrument.

years ago, every house had a piano, and just about everybody in the house played the piano, but not today.

we all know that farkel is an excellent pianist, and i do enjoy listening to his music.. does any of you play a musical instrument?
